BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
Photo opportunity display featuring a 3D grand piano,
piano stool & Live AID 1985 Wembley stadium backdrop
Brief
My collegue Tim Ward and I were tasked with creating a photo opportunity standee for the launch of the upcoming BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY movie about Freddie Murcury's life and music. We were required to incorporate a replica Freddie Murcury grand piano into the display, to draw in potential movie goers and create interest in the movie. Also providing the opportunity to take a souviner photograph, sitting at Freddies grand piano and imagining been on stage at Wembley stadium with Queen during their performance at Live AID 1985 .

Execution
We designed a full size replica grand piano using corrugated cardboard and spiral wound tubes to strengthen the legs. The piano keyboard had a built in sound chip with the BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY music activated at the push of a button. Also a curved backdrop created the view from the stage into the Wembley stadium crowd at the Queen Live AID 1985 gig. A strong corrugated cardboard piano stool was developed to support the weight of an average adult for a photo opportunity.

Reaction
Field research indicated that the displays stirred up a great deal of interest for the movie and that the movie goers loved having their photos taken sitting at Freddies piano, imagining they were on stage with Queen during Live AID 1985.
